Thrush is a fungal infection, commonly caused by a type of yeast called candida. Although candida is naturally present in the body, an imbalance can trigger thrush symptoms. Fluconazole 150mg (also known as Diflucan and other brand names) kills certain types of fungi and restores your body's natural balance.
Fluconazole treatment for thrush is simple - just one capsule to be swallowed with a glass of water. You can take this medicine at any time of day, with or without a meal.
Women taking fluconazole should see an improvement within a few days. Some women will notice improvement in 24 hours.
For men, the condition can take a little longer to clear up. The symptoms should clear up within a few days, although this can take up to a week.
If your condition hasn't cleared up within one week, you should consult a doctor.
Thrush is an infection which can occur without sexual contact, so it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, the infection can be passed on during sex, so it is recommended that you should not have sex until the infection has cleared up.
If you regularly suffer from thrush, then it's advisable that both you and your partner have thrush treatment at the same time.
Taking too much can make you unwell, so contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately if you take more than you should.
As with any medicine, there are side effects. Although a serious allergic reaction to fluconazole is rare. Common side effects (occurring in one in ten patients) include nausea, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, wind, rash and headache. However, these side effects are usually mild and don't tend to last long. If symptoms persist, or are particularly severe, contact your doctor.

You should not take fluconazole while you are pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding.
Do not take fluconazole if you've ever had an allergic reaction to any of its ingredients or any other medicines which you have taken to treat a fungal infection.

Dosage and recommended dose
The recommended dose of fluconazole for vaginal, urinary, and skin infections is one oral dose three times daily, with or without food. The maximum recommended dosing frequency is once daily. Capsules can be taken with or without food.
SuisonedSuisoned is an oral tablet that is taken once daily at approximately the same time of the day, with or without food. It works by preventing the fungi from reproducing and allowing the body's normal flora topriority production of the proteins that support fungal survival and growth. The recommended dosage ofSuisoned is usually taken on an empty stomach, 30 minutes to 1 hour before any meals or other drugs you are taking.

Take this medicine as prescribed by your doctor. It can be taken with or without food.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as prescribed. Your doctor can provide specific instructions and adjustments in your dosage. Depending on the effectiveness of your infection and the patient's individual needs, the dosage can also be adjusted up to once a day. Depending on the severity of your fungal infection, the doctor may increase or decrease your dose up to once daily. Most patients do not experience side effects from this medicine. However, Like all medications, Fluconazole may cause side effects. Most patients who have side effects on fluconazole do not experience any side effects. If you experience any side effects that require discontinuation such as difficulty breathing, changes in weight, or weight loss, you should seek medical attention.
PyrimethaminePyrimethamine is an antibacterial drug that works by inhibiting the growth of certain types of bacteria. It is prescribed in most cases by your doctor to manage urinary tract infections (UTIs), vaginal infections, and skin infections caused by certain types of bacteria.
Pyrimethamine can be used to treat certain types of infections caused by certain types of bacteria. It is also sometimes prescribed to help prevent the development of bacterial infections in people who are pregnant or may become pregnant.
Fluconazole is used to treat serious fungal or yeast infections, including vaginal candidiasis, oropharyngeal candidiasis (thrush, oral thrush), esophageal candidiasis (candida esophagitis), other candida infections (including urinary tract infections, peritonitis [inflammation of the lining of the stomach], and infections that may occur in different parts of the body), or fungal (cryptococcal) meningitis. It is also used in children on life support called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). This medicine works by killing the fungus or yeast, or preventing its growth. Fluconazole is also used to prevent candidiasis in patients having bone marrow transplants who receive cancer or radiation treatment.
Direction to Use:
DIFLUCAN® ONE is administered orally. Use in AdultsFor vaginal candidiasis, fluconazole 150 mg (DIFLUCAN® ONE) should beadministered as a single oral dose. The median time to onset of symptom relief following a 150 mg single oral dose for thetreatment of vaginal candidiasis is one day. The range of time to onset of symptomrelief is one hour to nine days. Use in ChildrenSingle dose fluconazole is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of ageexcept under doctor supervision.
Side Effects
Common fluconazole side effects include nausea, headache, and stomach pain. Diarrhea is also possible. Mild side effects tend to resolve on their own or go away when you finish your treatment course. Serious fluconazole side effects such as skin rash, liver damage, and heart rhythm changes are also possible
